Mixed Incontinence

Symptoms: In some cases, symptoms of both stress and urge incontinence will be present, resulting in mixed incontinence.  Usually, the symptoms of one type of incontinence are stronger.

Cause: Mixed Incontinence is caused by weakened pelvic floor or a deficient urinary sphincter in combination with damage to the nerves and/or muscles associated with the bladder.

Treatments: The patient's symptoms will direct what treatments are used.  Treatments include pelvic muscle strengthening, medications, bulking agents such as Macroplastique, "sling" procedures and neuromodulation from systems such as Urgent PC.
